Cayman Captive Forum to Wow Again

George Town, Grand Cayman, 28 November 2016

Twenty four years on, the Cayman Captive Forum is expected to wow the more than 1,400 delegates registered once again.

The Forum, having grown from humble beginnings is now well-touted as the largest captive insurance conference in the world.  Run almost exclusively by volunteers from the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman, the event continues to attract captive directors, CFOs, risk managers, captive insurance managers and other service providers from around the world. The Forum consistently hits the right buttons in terms of its ever-relevant content, its generous and always entertaining networking functions and the great mix of people from all sides of the captive insurance industry.

This year’s keynote is the incredible Diana Nyad, who at the age of 64 successfully fulfilled her lifelong dream of swimming the 110 mile epic journey from Cuba to Florida as the world watched in anticipation.  Diana’s message is clear and powerful:  “we should never give up; you are never too old to chase your dreams; and even if it looks like a solitary sport, it always takes a team”.

The remaining two and a half days are jam-packed with topics of relevance and interest, including global risks and trends, new regulatory requirements and the emerging medical risks of Zika, Ebola and other infectious diseases.  Also back by popular demand Michael Bazzell, who has astounded the crowd year after year with his insight on cyber security.

Forum Committee Chair Erin Brosnihan of Kensington Management Group, Ltd. is excited for this year’s event: “we have another incredible line up of speakers this year, we have a great team that has worked tirelessly to put on a great event and of course we couldn’t have done it without all of our sponsors, but I do want to acknowledge our main sponsor this year – KPMG”.  Asked more about the speakers, she added:  “As always, I look forward to the thrill in the audience when Michael Bazzell shares his insights into the world of hacking with live demonstrations. He is always a show-stopper”.

The Cayman Captive Forum is being held at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman from November 29 – December 1.
